the beginnings
Maybe it sounds cliché, but this idea for a Christian camp started as a dream.
1964 | A Dream
At the time of 1964 there was a lot of unrest in our nation and a great need for Jesus. Kentucky minister, Leo Crowe, dreamed of a Christian Church service camp to help teach our youth about Jesus and model what it looks like to be in relationship with our Creator.
In September the first Board of Trustees was established and $300 was donated to reserve Levi Jackson State Park in London, KY for the first summer camp of Faith Christian Camp.
1965 | First Camp
The first week of camp was held at Levi Jackson State Park August 1-6, with 64 campers and 13 faculty members. There were 11 baptisms and 22 re-dedications that first week. During the closing service on Friday evening, 20 acres were donated to Faith Christian Camp in good faith that summer camps would be held on location in the future.
1966 | Our Campus
On April 20th, 1966 ground was broken on our current campus. Approximately 200 people were present. The cabins were eventually built by individual congregations. Six cabins in total each holding 16 campers.
Today | Blessed
Thanks to the generosity and vision of so many individuals and churches since 1964 many updates and renovations have taken place. Our campus is a representation of God’s faithfulness. The message has remained the same: Where Faith Meets Fun! It is an honor to take part in showing people, young and old, the love of Jesus and being in relationship with Him is not only possible, but worth it!

God is doing big things
